These two hair products saved my hair (this is not an exaggeration)! I have read many articles about how wearing your hair in a bun is the WORST thing you can do for your hair because it pulls out the fine hairs framing your face and causes breakage towards the ends of your hair. As an Army Officer who has her hair in a bun 99% of the time I can attest to those articles and say, yes those articles are correct. I have had the joy of dealing with the broken ends and baby hairs pulled from the front of my face. Not the most glamorous situation.
After a few years I said enough is enough. I am going to find a way to wear my hair in a bun and also have a beautiful head of hair after the duty day ends. Now, add your hair issue here ______. It could range from using too many hot tools, or maybe you drastically changed your hair color (cue picture of Kim Kardashian). Regardless of your situation you need hair help.
After years of trying too many products to count, (I would classify myself as a product junkie) I found the two products which completely revamped my hair. The first is a leave in conditioner called Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine. While I was in the salon one day my hairdresser told me about this leave in conditioner. I was skeptical at first, but not in any position to turn down a product claiming to give me beautiful hair, so I tried it. After awhile I couldn’t believe how great my hair looked. You only need to use about three drops, rub your hands together, and put onto damp hair. The product smells amazing and did not leave my hair oily at all. In fact, it left my hair super silky. I bought this product a year and a half ago and I am not even half way done with the bottle- so it lasts forever! A bonus is the conditioner is silicon free and have various oils to include jojoba and coconut. Make sure you click on the link to read the reviews on Redken’s website (hint: it got 5 out of 5 stars!).
The second product is Aveda’s Damage Remedy: Daily Hair Repair. This product is basically like putting protein directly on your hair. There are ingredients such as wheat and quinoa protein with organic oils. This product enabled the breakage in my hair to go away and my hair started to look healthier. You put a dime amount into your palms, rub together, and put throughout damp hair. I use this product every time I wash my hair- it’s that good.
These products are in a price range slightly higher than drug-store products but not so expensive you feel like you broke the bank. I know this is a much longer post than normal, and thanks so much for reading!

Very true about buns and hair damage. I bet any sporty girl who frequently throws her hair in a ponytail could benefit as well ☺️ I’ve got to try these!
